The controller on the Infortrend EonStor GSe 3090 G3 Storage Appliance supports a single 4-core, Intel Xeon D processor supporting 16GB up to 192GB of DDR4 cache memory. It also supports dual onboard SAS expansion ports for attaching JBOD expansion enclosures. It also provides 2x onboard SFP28 25GbE ports for attaching host servers but all ports must be set to the same channel type, either block-level or file-level storage. For additional expansion, the controller can be outfitted with up to 2x host boards. Host boards provide additional options for connection speeds and connection port numbers. That includes a 2x port QSFP56 100GbE for Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA). Powering the system are dual 1600W 80 PLUS Titanium PSUs.

With several options for 2U, and 4U expansion enclosures, the GSe 3090 Gen3 can scale-up to support up to 896 drive bays. Scale-out, by attaching other series appliances, per cluster, can provide up to 3584 drives. The system can be easily managed using Infortrend’s EonOne, a web-based management software tool. It can help Administrators manage a cluster and multiple appliances, enact complete system configurations and monitor performance and storage capacity usage from a single user interface.
