A single controller on the Infortrend EonStor GSe 4090 G3 storage system has an Intel Xeon D processor with 6x cores plus a default cache memory configuration of 12GB of DDR4 memory modules. Scale-up from additional expansion enclosures can provide up to 896 drives, while scale-out through other Infortrend series appliances can provide up to 3584 drives, per cluster for over 70 Petabytes of storage. A cluster is composed of a maximum of 4x GSe units. The cache memory can be upgraded to support up to 192GB and can be outfitted with an optional Cache Backup Module (CBM) that includes a super capacitor and flash storage module. Additionally, for block-level storage the system can also be outfitted with a 4TB SSD cache pool.

A number of RAID options provide data protection and or performance options. The system also supports various backup utilities including, snapshot, volume copy, volume mirror, sync, and IDR. With hybrid storage availability data that is accessed more frequently can be stored on SSDs while archive data can be stored on high-capacity HDDs delivering a better return on investment. For managing performance and capacity usage, Infortrend offers their EonOne management utility. EonOne can also help Administrators manage clusters and multiple appliances, plus complete system configurations using an intuitive web-based interface.
