Offering an optional Neptune Core open loop liquid cooling module, the 2U Lenovo SR850 V4 supports compute-intensive applications like visualization, machine learning, artificial intelligence, analytics, and 3D modeling. It features up to 2x double-width 400W GPUs or 4x single-width 75W GPUs. In addition, this machine has 64x DIMM slots divided between up to 4x CPUs supporting up to 16TB of DDR5 memory running at 6400MT/s. It also allows for up to 16x CXL 2.0 memory add-in-cards in a E3.S 2T form factor, each supporting 96GB to 128GB but only with 4x processors installed. These CXL 2.0 memory add-in-cards use the upfront storage bays PCIe interface. Up to 12x (11x Gen5 + 1x Gen4) or 9x (7x Gen5 + 2x Gen4) expansion slots are accessible through the rear of the chassis. Depending on the configuration, up to 4x risers house the expansion slots. In addition, there are 2x dedicated OCP 3.0 slots supporting 1GbE, 10GbE, 25GbE, 100GbE, 200GbE or 400GbE. 

The ThinkSystem SR850 V4 is designed with Predictive Failure Analysis, error detection, and self-healing to avoid downtime before it happens. Lightpath diagnostics provides fast failure identification to speed repairs and get you back up and running faster. Lenovo XClarity Controller (XCC) is the embedded management engine in ThinkSystem servers that is designed to standardize, simplify, and automate foundation server management tasks. It monitors system vital signs like temperature, voltage and resource utilization, while automating configuration tasks like network settings and RAID configurations. Up to 2x hot-swap redundant power supplies keep the system running, with either 80 PLUS Platinum or 80 PLUS Titanium certification and 1300W, 2000W, 2700W and 3200W AC options.
