A total of 2x 32GB Lenovo TruDDR5 UDIMMs can be installed on the Lenovo ThinkSystem ST45 V3 for up to 64GB of memory running at top speed of 5600MHz. The small chassis has several storage options including up to 4x non-hot swap drive bays supporting 3x 3.5-inch HDDs or SSDs, and 1x 2.5-inch SSD. Similarly, the ThinkSystem ST45 V3 offers 2x NVMe slots on the system board for M.2 drives that can be used as a boot drive or for additional storage. The system can also be outfitted with an optional 9mm slim SATA DVD-RW optical disk drive. This platform is powered by a single fixed power supply with either a 300W Gold or 500W Platinum certification.
The motherboard features 2x expansion slots with 1x supporting PCIe 3.0 x16 full-height half-length (FHHL) (75W) and the other PCIe 3.0 x1 full-height half-length (FHHL) (25W). Administrators can use the Lenovo XClarity Provisioning Manager Lite (LXPM Lite) to manage the tower server since it doesn’t have an XClarity Controller (XCC) management processor. LXPM Lite is a USB memory key-based application for system setup and firmware upgrades. It provides a simple graphical interface with the ability to install an operating system and device drivers either in an unattended mode or manually. It also supports diagnostics for memory test, hard disk drive test, and RAID log collection.
