Built on NVIDIA’s Ampere architecture, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU supports 6GB or 8GB memory. As one of 10 high-end cards in the GeForce RTX 30 series, it features Microsoft DirectX 12 Ultimate, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and much more for a superlative gaming experience. With 8GB of GDDR6 memory, the GPU offers a 128-bit memory interface operating at 1750 MHz or 14 Gbps. Meanwhile, the 6GB of GDDR6 memory delivers a 96-bit memory interface, but supports the same memory frequency.
Both 8GB and 6GB models are dual-slot GPUs built on an 8nm process with support for 2nd generation ray tracing cores, 3rd generation tensor cores, and PCIe Gen4. The GeForce RTX 3050 GPU also provides 4K and 8K compatibility with 1x HDMI 2.1 and 3x DisplayPort 1.4a. Both models have some differences in specifications which are listed below.
GeForce RTX 3050 (6GB):
2304 CUDA cores
1.47GHz Boost clock
1.04GHz Base clock
72 tensor cores
18 ray tracing cores
32 ROPs
70W Graphics card power
300W required system power
GeForce RTX 3050 (8GB):
2560 CUDA cores
1.78GHz Boost Clock
1.55GHz Base Clock
80 tensor cores
20 ray tracing cores
32 ROPs
130W Graphics card power
550W required system power
1x PCIe 8-pin power connector
An 8-pin power connector provides for a power draw rated at 130W. A host power supply unit of up to 300W is recommended for this affordable, yet powerful GPU.
