NVIDIA Quadro M6000 GPU (24GB) - System Overview

Description

Nvidia Quadro M6000 front view

Offering plenty of onboard memory, the Quadro M6000 has a 28nm process, based on the GM200 graphics processor to create and render large, complex models and compute intensive workloads. Although the GPU specifications are the same as the 12GB Quadro M6000, this version has new control options that are useful for taking advantage of its maximum performance.

Performance

The dual-slot Quadro GPU features 3072 shading units, 256 texture mapping units and 96 ROPs. With 8,000 million transistors on the 28nm processor, the 6.8 TFLOPS on this card can handle the display engine that drives up to four 4K-resolution displays natively with DisplayPort 1.2 support for ultra-high resolutions. A key difference between this version and the previous M6000 is that NVIDIA has options to regulate the temperature and clock speed of the card to keep the temperature below the threshold where thermal throttling begins. Power draw is rated at 250W maximum.

Memory

Quadro M6000 ports

Compared to its predecessor, the M6000 12GB version, this new card doubles the GDDR5 memory to 24GB. Memory is connected using a 384-bit interface running at 1653 MHz with a 317.4 GB/s bandwidth.

Features

The 24GB version of the NVIDIA Quadro M6000 graphics processing unit still includes a single DVI, no HDMI, four DisplayPort outputs, and NVIDIA’s centrifugal blower cooling system. This card is designed to handle large, professional datasets with support for any combination of four connected displays with the use of NVIDIA nView. For single or multi-display setups, the software provides full versatility, offering unparalleled end-use control of the desktop environment for improved productivity.

Summary

Powered by Maxwell architecture, the NVIDIA Quadro M6000 GPU is built on a 28nm process. Packed with 24GB of GDDR5 memory and 3072 CUDA cores, the M6000 can help artists and engineers accelerate their work by allowing them to integrate interactive based rendering and simulation at faster speeds.
