Offering up to 8TB of memory the Supermicro A+ Server 1024US-TRT server also supports two second generation AMD EPYC 7002 series processors. At only 1U, this system comes as a completely assembled unit with a minimal configuration of 2x CPUs, 4 DIMM modules, and 1 HD or NVMe drive.
Outfitted for high-performance computing (HPC) workloads, the Supermicro A+ Server 1024US-TRT is designed for virtualization, cloud computing, and for use as a high-end enterprise server. Although minimal, you have options with storage including SAS, SATA or NVMe.
The Supermicro 1024US-TRT server supports dual AMD EPYC 7002 processors, up to 280W thermal design point (TDP). Top of the line AMD EPYC processors can support up to 64 cores for up to 128 cores and 256 threads in a two-processor configuration. Each processor supports 8 memory channels.
Only Registered (RDIMM) and Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) ECC DDR4 memory modules are supported. Each processor is in charge of 16x memory module slots for a total of 32x slots with dual processors. With an 8-channel memory bus, the system can support up to 8TB of memory using 256GB memory modules in all 32x slots.
Given the 1U chassis, storage on this system is limited to four 3.5-inch storage bay lining the front of the system. Options include 4x 3.5-inch SATA, 4x NVMe drives using an optional drive trays, or 4x SASIII using an optional SAS kit. M.2 drives are also supported but only through the PCIe lanes.
There are 4x PCIe 4.0 slots on the system board with 2x full-height full length slots, and 1x PCIe x16 low-profile slot plus another internal low-profile proprietary slot. However, both CPUs need to be installed to access all PCIe slots and controllers. There are two 10GbE ports on the back of the system but if faster I/O is required optional network controllers offer connections speeds of up to 200GbE, along with a variety of other options.
The IPMI RJ-45 port on the back of the system provides remote and at chassis access to the base management controller, and is based on the ASPEED AST 2500. Additional management features include SuperDoctor5 (SD5) which features an intuitive user interface using a standard web browser, and Watchdog.
