Four Intel Xeon 6 6700 series processors with E-cores provide compute for the 12-bay Supermicro BigTwin SuperServer 622BT-DNC8R. These CPUs support up to 144 cores and 144 threads. CPUs with a maximum TDP of up to 330W are supported with an optional liquid cooled direct to chip (D2C) cold plate. When air cooled, CPUs are limited to a TDP of up to 250W. The 2U system holds 2x hot-pluggable nodes, each assigned 6x of the 12x hot-swap 3.5” NVMe, SATA, SAS drive bays. SAS drives support 12Gbps via Broadcom 3808 in IT mode.

This system is ideally designed for scale-out file storage, backup, and recovery, as well as hyperconverged infrastructure. Fully configured, each node on the BigTwin SuperServer 622BT-DNC8R delivers 16x DIMM slots offering up to 4TB of DDR5 memory operating at up to 6400MT/s when all slots are loaded with 256GB RDIMMs. 2x M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe slots per node, can be outfitted with 22110 form factor cards. 2x more NVMe M.2 drives are supported via optional SCC-A2NM2241GH-B1 offering built-in HW RAID 1. To expand the capabilities, the server supports 2x PCIe 5.0 x8 low-profile slots, 1x PCIe 5.0 x16 low-profile slot, and 1x PCIe 5.0 x16 AIOM slot that supports OCP 3.0. Powering the server, are 2x 2200W redundant (1 + 1) Titanium level (96%) power supplies on the rear panel.
A dedicated management IPMI LAN port on the back of each node provides remote access to the system. A number of management programs, including SuperCloud Composer, Supermicro Think-Agent Service (TAS), Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO), and SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA) can be deployed by administrators.
