With both processors installed, it supports a maximum thermal design power (TDP) rating of up to 350W with air cooling but those over 250W are only supported under certain conditions. 2x M.2 PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe slots are provided on the motherboard for 2280 or 22110 form factor cards. The motherboard also includes 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for AIOM modules compatible with OCP 3.0. At the front, there are 12x hot-swappable 2.5” drive bays, which support NVMe, SAS, and SATA drives, but additional storage controllers or cables may be necessary. Behind the storage backplane, 8x heavy-duty fans ensure the chassis maintains a stable temperature for optimal performance. The server can be powered by either 2x 1000W or 2x 2000W redundant Titanium-level power supplies.

To monitor and manage the SuperServer 122C-TN, Supermicro provides a number of utilities. Software includes the Supermicro SuperDoctor 5 (SD5), Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), and SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA) for at-chassis and remote management of the system.
*This system can only be sold as a completely assembled server with a minimum of 2x CPUs, 2x DIMMs, 1x storage device HDD/HDS/M.2, and 1x NIC. NIC requirement can be either an AIOM or PCIe card.
