4x drive bays in front can be outfitted with hot-swap NVMe or SATA3 drive types. The system also has 2x PCIe 3.0 x4 slots on the motherboard for up to 2x NVMe M.2 drives. The M.2 drives can be used to boot the system only. A virtual RAID on CPU or VROC key can be used for limited RAID with SSDs or SATA3 drive formats. All liquid cooling tubes come in through the back of the system and are in turn routed to a coolant distribution unit, which may connect to a cooling tower or unit to reduce the temperature of the liquid even further. To manage the system Supermicro provides several software utilities including; SuperCloud Composer (SCC), Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), SuperDoctor 5 (SD5) plus other utilities for updating and automation.
Key applications include AI and Deep Learning, industrial automation, retail, health care, conversational AI, and a host of other things. With both processors installed, the Supermicro GPU SuperServer 221GE-TNHT-LCC can provide up to 8TB of Registered DIMMs, with 16x memory module slots per CPU. The system can be outfitted with 4x SXM NvVIDIA HGX H100 or H200 GPUs connected via 4th generation NVLink for a bi-directional memory bandwidth of up to 300GB/s. GPUs in turn use a PCIe 5.0 x16 bus for CPU to GPU communications, with each CPU in charge of 2x GPUs. 4x PCIe 5.0 slots are located at the back of the chassis for additional NICs or Storage controllers. Powering the system are 2x 5250W redundant Titanium grade power supply units.
*This system is only sold as a completely assembled system including 2x CPUs, A minimum of 1TB of memory for the NVIDIA HGX H100 GPU, 1x storage device, and 1x NIC.
