Processors are limited to a thermal design power (TDP) range of up to 385W with liquid cooling. With CPUs featuring an 8-memory channel architecture and 32 memory module slots, at full capacity, the Supermicro 421GE-TNHR2-LCC can be outfitted with up to 8TB of memory with 2x DIMMs per Channel (2DPC). Only ECC Registered DIMMs are supported and offer speeds of up to 5600MT/s using 1DPC or up to 4400MT/s using 2DPC. Memory speed can also be impacted by the installed memory module speed, CPU generation, and family.
GPUs are connected to each other via NVIDIA NVLink with NVSwitch. The CPU to GPU interconnect features a PCIe 5.0 x16 interface. The NVME HGX H100 has 80GB of memory compared to 141GB on the HGX H200. For additional expansion there are 2x options, default with 8x PCIe 5.0 x16 low profile slots plus 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 full-height, half-length slots. And Option A with 8x PCIe 4.0 x16 low profile slots plus 4x PCIe 5.0 x16 full-height, half-length slots. Supermicro offers a few software utilities to manage the system including SuperCloud Composer, Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO), Supermicro Thin-Agent Service (TAS), and the SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA).
*This system is only sold as a completely assembled system including 2x CPUs (minimum 42 cores per socket). A minimum of 1.5TB of memory for the NVIDIA HGX H100 GPU, 8-GPU Baseboard, 1x storage device, and 1x NIC.
