Supermicro GPU SuperServer 422GL-NR - System Overview
The Supermicro 422GL-NR is equipped with dual Intel Xeon 6900 series processors, each featuring P-cores with up to 72 cores and 144 threads. Compatible CPUs support a thermal design power (TDP) of up to 500W when air-cooled. With 24x memory module slots and 12-channel memory architecture per processor, each memory module will reside in a single memory channel for maximum performance. With 1x DIMM per Channel (1DPC), the system supports up to 6TB of ECC DDR5 memory using either RDIMMs or MRDIMMs. RDIMMs offer memory speeds of up to 6400MT/s, while MRDIMMs can reach speeds of up to 8800MT/s.
By default, the Supermicro GPU 422GL-NR provides 8x PCIe 5.0 x16 FH double-width slots for GPUs along with 4x PCIe 5.0 x16 HHHL slots for network interface cards (NICs). An optional PCIe 5.0 x16 FHHL slot is also available for an additional NIC/DPU via the CPU. The system supports 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe slots for high-speed storage or to boot the OS. System management is offered through Supermicro’s suite of software tools, including SuperCloud Composer, Supermicro Server Manager, and the SuperServer Automation Assistant. These tools provide administrators with control over fan speeds, power supply monitoring, memory health diagnostics, and more.
