For ease of access in potential edge applications, the Supermicro GrandTwin A+ Server 2116GT-HNTF has an I/O panel located on the front of each server node, with an information button and power on button for each node located in the server ear. The CPU features 12-channel memory architecture and supports 16 memory module slots. With both the 9005-series and 9004-series CPUs, the system will support up to 2TB with 1x DIMM per channel (1DPC) or up to 4TB using 2x DIMMs per channel (2DPC). The back of the chassis has dual redundant 2200W power supply units (PSUs), however, full redundancy is based on configuration and application load.
For expansion, there is a single PCIe 5.0 x16 AIOM connector on the system board, which is OCP 3.0 compatible. There are also 2x slots on the system board for M.2 NVMe/SATA drives, which can be used to boot the system or for additional super-fast storage. A dedicated RJ45 GbE LAN port on the back for remote access and management. Supermicro offers several software utilities to manage the system including, Supermicro SuperCloud Composer, Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO), Supermicro Thin-Agent Service (TAS), SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA).
