Built for virtualization, firewall applications, and more, the Supermicro 111AD-WRN2 supports up to 128GB of non-ECC DDR5 UDIMMs when all 4x memory module slots are filled. Speeds of up to 4400MT/s can be reached in a 2x DIMM per channel configuration. In addition to the internal drive bays, there are 2x M.2 PCIe x4 slots on the X13 motherboard for either 2280 or 22110 form factors. There are 2x options for PCIe expansion.

Users can deploy Supermicro software to manage the Supermicro SuperServer 111AD-WRN2. Tools like SuperCloud Composer, Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO), Supermicro Thin-Agent Service (TAS), and the SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA) are available. Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO) offers the ability to assess the condition of the CPU, RAM, BMC, HDD, USB, power supply, backplane, PCIe, VGA, GPU, and network components of Supermicro servers. Super Diagnostics Offline is available for local host usage in both CLI and GUI modes. It also enables remote diagnostics when used in conjunction with SSM (Supermicro Server Manager) and SMCIPMITool. This server is powered by 1x 800W redundant Platinum level (94%) power supply.
