Offering a short chassis depth of 16.9-inches, the Supermicro IoT SuperServer 112B-FWT is a 1U compact edge server intended for multi-access edge computing, satellite communication, DU of 5G application, and more. At the heart of the system, a single Intel Xeon 6 6700 series processor with E-cores can be deployed with up to 144 cores and 160 threads, and a maximum TDP of up to 350W when air cooled. To each side of the CPU, there are 4x DIMM slots, for a total of 8x DIMMs with a maximum capacity of up to 1TB of memory when all slots are populated with 128GB memory modules. Both standard RDIMMs and Intel Optane Persistent 200 series memory modules are supported.
Supermicro IoT SuperServer 112B-FWT - System Overview
Under the hood, the IoT SuperServer 112B-FWT offers 2x internal, fixed storage expansion bays for 2.5” NVMe/SATA drive bays. Similarly, the operating system can be stored in 2x M.2 PCIe 5.0 x2 NVMe slots on the system board for 2280 or 22110 form factor cards. Although it has a small physical footprint, this machine can support 1x single-width GPU such as the NVIDIA PCIe A2 and NVIDIA PCIe L4 GPU cards.
For expansion options, the chassis provides 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 full-height, full-length slots and 1x PCIe 5.0 x16 low-profile slot. The platform is powered by 2x 860W redundant (1 + 1) Titanium Level (96%) hot-plug power supplies and can be managed by Supermicro Think-Agent Service (TAS), SuperCloud Composer, Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO), Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), and SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA).
