Processors supported include the Intel Xeon 6700 and 6500 series with P-cores and the 6700 series with E-cores. With E-cores, the system can be outfitted with CPUs offering up to 144 cores and 144 threads. With P-cores the system will support CPUs with up to 86 cores and 172 threads. A thermal design power (TDP) rating of 350W is supported when air cooled but CPUs over 250W are only supported under certain conditions.
Ideal for a number of demanding edge applications such as 5G core and edge computing, AI inference, machine learning, and cloud computing, when fully equipped, the Supermicro 212B-FN4TP can support up to 2TB of RDIMM memory. Multiplexed Rank DIMMs or MRDIMMs can also be installed and offer faster memory speeds at up to 8000MT/s compared to RDIMMs, which can provide memory speeds of up to 6400 MT/s. With 8-memory channel architecture, memory modules are distributed across 8x DDR5 DIMM slots. This server meets NEBS-Level 3 standards, making it suitable for critical applications in telecom networks and other carrier-grade environments. To tackle demanding workloads, it can accommodate up to 3x single-width GPUs connected via a PCIe 5.0 x16 CPU-to-GPU interconnect.
PCIe Options
DefaultThe system can be powered by either dual 600W or 800W redundant power supplies, which are accessible from the front of the chassis. 4x large cooling fans are located on the back of the system. For monitoring and managing the IoT SuperServer 212B-FN4TP, administrators can use software tools such as Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO), and SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA). Depending on the configuration, the server supports up to 5x PCIe slots using optional risers.
