CPUs supported on this system can have a TDP of 150W-350W for air-cooled configurations. Storage on the Supermicro 221E-DN2R24R can be divided between nodes or allocated to just one. Dual ports on each of the drive bays ensures data access is uninterrupted and guards against a single point failure. Each node also supports 2x PCIe 3.0 x4 slots for NVMe M.2 storage devices that can be used to boot the OS. A dedicated 1GbE management port offers remote access to the system, and 2x 10GbE RJ45 ports provide basic network communications. Dual 2000W, redundant Titanium-level PSUs provide power to the system.

For additional options for network communications or storage controllers, there are 2x PCIe 5.0 x16 half-height, half-length (HHHL) slots plus 2x PCIe 5.0 x8 HHHL slots.
