Description

Compatible with a single 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor, the Supermicro Storage SuperServer 540P-E1CTR60H is a 4U system designed for large data storage. 8x DIMM slots on the system board can provide a maximum memory capacity of up to 3TB. Accessible from the top of the system, there are 60x 3.5-inch hot-swappable SATA3/SAS3 drive bays. 3x PCIe 4.0 x8 slots and 2x PCIe 4.0 x16 slots are found on the rear of the system. Redundant 1600W Titanium 80 Plus level power supplies power the system.

Performance

A single 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable provides compute for this system. The hardware configuration on this system supports CPUs with a Thermal Design Point (TDP) up to 270W. This TDP means that CPUs with up to 38x physical and 76x virtual threads are compatible.

Storage

There are 60x 3.5-inch SATA3/SAS3 hot-swappable drive bays Accessible from the top of the system. In addition, the system can be outfitted with a single PCIe 3.0 x4 or SATA M.2 drive. There are 2x optional 2.5-inch SATA3/NVMe drive bays on the rear of the system as well. SAS drives are supported via a Broadcom 3916 offering a full range of RAID options.

Memory

Compatible memory modules for the Supermicro 540P-E1CTR60H include ECC DDR4 Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) or Load Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM) as well as Intel Optane Persistent Memory 200 series. When fully configured, there are two maximum memory configuration options on this system. The first option is 8x 256GB RDIMM/LRDIMM memory modules while the second option uses 4x 256 RDIMM/LRDIMM memory modules as well as 4x 512GB PMem modules. Depending on the CPU and memory modules installed speeds of 3200MHz are supported.

Expansion

System expansion is achieved through a total of 5x PCIe 4.0 slots on the rear of the Supermicro SuperServer 540P-E1CTR60H. 2x of those slots are PCIe 4.0 x16 low profile slots while the other three are PCIe 4.0 x8 low profile slots. An Intel Ethernet controller X550 provides 2x 10GbE BaseT ports in back, which can connect this system to the rest of your IT infrastructure.

Management

Supermicro provides a suite of software management options right out of the box. Watch Dog and SuperDoctor 5 are proprietary software management tools which grants access to remote management, as well management at the chassis. In addition, the system is Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0 compliant, with Supermicro Update Manager SUM, and NMI providing additional management utilities.
