An internal node tray on the Supermicro Storage 542B-E1CR90 offers 2x fixed 2.5” PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe SSD drive bays, while the rear panel includes 4x 2.5” hot-swap PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD drive bays. For expandability, the system includes 3x hot-serviceable SAS expanders, strategically positioned down the middle of the drive bays.
The Supermicro 542B-E1CR90 motherboard features up to 4x PCIe 5.0 slots, including 1x PCIe 5.0 x8 HHHL slot and 3x PCIe 5.0 x16 HHHL slots, along with 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 x2 NVMe slots (M-key 2280/22110). To power the system, it is equipped with dual 2600W redundant (1+1) Titanium Level power supplies. Management is made easy with software tools like Supermicro Server Manager (SSM), Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO), and SuperServer Automation Assistant (SAA). Super Diagnostics Offline checks the health of key parts in Supermicro servers like the CPU, memory, hard drives, power supply, and more. SDO can be used locally with both command line (CLI) and graphical user interface (GUI). For remote checks, it works with tools like SMCIPMITool and Supermicro Server Manager (SSM).
