For storage, the 621E-ACR12L supports a total of 14x hot-swap drive bays by default. The front panel includes 12x hot-swap 3.5-inch SAS/SATA bays, with 2x hot-swap 2.5” SATA drive bays on the rear. The front-loading storage server also provides the option of installing 6x hot-swap 3.5" PCIe 5.0 x4 NVMe drive bays, but an additional storage controller or cables may be needed. For more storage or to boot the operating system, the motherboard supports 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 x2 NVMe slots compatible with 2280 or 22110 form factor cards.

For expansion, administrators can access 4x PCIe 5.0 x15 low-profile slots and 2x PCIe 5.0 x8 low-profile slots through the rear of the chassis. This system is equipped with an HBA controller via a Broadcom 3816. Power is delivered through 2x 1200W redundant Titanium level hot-plug power supplies and can be managed by Supermicro’s software such as SuperDoctor 5 (SD5), Super Diagnostics Offline (SDO), and SuperCloud Composer. These tools, among others, offer real-time hardware and operating system health monitoring both at-chassis or remotely.
