Ideal for large data storage needs, the Supermicro 640P-E1CR36H server houses up 2x 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 36x physical cores and 76x virtual threads. Each CPU socket is linked to 8x DDR4 DIMM slots for a total of 16x on the system board. Fully configured, the maximum memory capacity is 4TB. There are a total of 38x drive bays on this server, 24x of which are 3.5-inch SATA/SAS bays accessible from the front of the server. 12x 3.5 SATA/SAS bays are accessible from the rear of the system along with 2x 2.5-inch SATA/SAS bays. The 2.5-inch bays may require additional storage controllers or cables for SAS support. A single M.2 NVMe slot is available on this system as well for fast access storage needs or OS installation.
System expansion on the Supermicro SuperServer 640P-E1CR36H is achieved via 3x PCIe 4.0 x16 low-profile slots and a single PCIe 4.0 x8 low-profile slot. This system is powered by 2x 1600W Titanium hot-plug power supplies in a redundant configuration. Temperatures are regulated by 7x heavy duty 8cm fans. A single RJ-45 1GbE dedicated integrated platform management interface (IPMI) LAN port is available on the rear of the system for remote management.
