Offering a space-saving architecture, the Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 414E (422, 222, 420D) can be outfitted with up to 14x single or dual-socket server nodes in a single enclosure. Up to 7x enclosures can be installed in a 42U rack enclosure, with each capable of supporting 14x independent server nodes for up to 98 individual servers.

Enclosure with four 2000W DC power supplies
Compute, memory and storage is handled by the server nodes, while power, cooling, I/OO and management are handled by the enclosure. Dual-socket server nodes include the SuperBlade 420P-4T2N and the 4429P-T2N, one featuring 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors and the other uses 1st and 2nd generation Scalable processors. CPUs with Intel’s OCP connection are also supported providing direct to CPU I/O communications at up to 100Gb/s.
Power and cooling are provided by the Enclosure 414E chassis with up to 4x fans like in the Enclosure 414E-422 and SuperBlade Enclosure 414E-420D. The other chassis in this family, the SuperBlade Enclosure 414E-222 features 2x hot-pluggable 2200W Titanium PSUs. This system is also compatible with 2x hot-pluggable 1200W Battery Backup Power (BBP) modules.
This system features open industry standard integrated platform management interface (IPMI), Redfish APIs, and a full suite of other software, including SuperCloud Composer. Basic management of each of the server nodes is handled through the Chassis Management Module (CMM), only one of which is supported.
There are 2x networking modules supported on this chassis capable of delivering 25Gb, 10Gb, and 1Gb Ethernet switches. For high-performance computing environments options 200G and 100G InfiniBand or 100G Intel Omni-Path architecture can be used but only with 1st generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with the Omni-path direct attach cable.
The Supermicro SuperBlade Enclosure 414E (414E-422, 414E-222, 414E-420D) offers high-density for high-performance applications. At only 4U, the server can support up to 14x individual server nodes or up to 10 enclosures and 140 individual servers with up to 280 CPUs a full complement of dual-processor server nodes. This system is designed for extreme virtualization, financial analysis, high-performance computing, and for use as an enterprise cloud server.
