Like many of the platforms in the Ultra SuperServer lineup, the Supermicro SuperServer 1029U-E1CR4T features 10x 2.5-inch storage bays up front powered by dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors and support for up to 6TB of memory. It also supports a single Nvidia GPU for graphics- or compute-intensive applications.
The Supermicro SuperServer 1029U-E1CR4T is used for extreme virtualization, cloud computing and for use as a high-end enterprise server. The 1U form factor makes it easy to find room and integrate with your existing network, and will support for up to 6TB of memory can add some serious computational performance. Power is provided by dual redundant 750W Platinum-level PSUs.

This system comes outfitted with either first- or second-generation dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors from 70W to 205W. Intel Optane data center persistent memory modules (DCPMM) using second-generation processors and nonvolatile (NVDIMM) memory modules using only first-generation intel Xeon Scalable processors. Memory speed will run at up to 2933MHz using second-generation processors or a maximum of 2666MHz using first-generation processors.
Both first and second-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors have six memory channels, but support speeds of 2666MHz and 2933MHz, respectively. DCPMM modules are only supported using second-generation processors and must be paired with approved registered (RDIMM) or Load-Reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules. With all memory slots allocated 256GB memory modules, the system will support a maximum of a little over 6TB of memory.
Ten hot-swap storage bays line the front of the system and can be outfitted with SATA drives are supported natively, but it will also support 10x SAS3 or SATA3 ports with an optional backplane expander and PCIe add-on HD/RAID controller card. M.2 drives are supported with either a riser or add-on card.
The Supermicro 1029U-E1CR4T has up to four expansion slots, including 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots for full-height cards, and 2x PCIe 3.0 x8 slots. Both CPUs need to be installed for use of all PCIe slots. The system comes with 4x 10GbE ports on the back of the system.
An integrated RJ45 port on the back of the system is Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) compliant and leveraged the AST ASPEED 2500 controller module for at-chassis and remote management of the system. Several other integrated and optional applications can also be implemented, including SuperDoctor 5.0 (SD5), Redfish API, and Intel’s Node Manager.
For a 1U server, the Supermicro SuperServer 1029U-E1CR4T delivers powerful performance with help from dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors. With 10x drive bays upfront, the system can also provide adequate storage. The optional M.2 drives used to boot the system can help preserve your up-front drives for storage.
