The system features dual Intel Xeon Gold 6254 Processors, which are housed in the Supermicro SuperServer 1029UX-LL3-C16 server chassis. Each CPU socket supports 8x DIMM slots for a total of 16x DIMM slots. The front of the system houses 10x hot-swappable hybrid drive bays. A redundant configuration of 750W power supplies is found in the rear of the system.

The Supermicro 1029UX-LL3-C16 Server supports the X11 motherboard housing dual sockets and is configured specifically using the Intel Xeon Gold 6254 Processors. This CPU has 26x physical cores and 52 virtual threads and supports 6x memory channels. Power for this system is provided by a redundant configuration of 750W 80-plus rated Platinum Power Supplies (PSUs).
With 8x DIMM slots per CPU, there are a total of 16x DIMM slots on the system board. When fully configured, this platform can support a little over 4TB of memory with 256GB 3DS ECC DDR4 Load Reduced DIMMs or Registered DIMMs installed in all slots. Memory speeds available on this system include 2933MHz, 2666MHz, 2400MHz, and 2133MHz depending on memory modules and configuration.
On the front of the system there 10x hot-swappable drive bays. 8x of those drive bays are 2.5-inch SAS3 drive bays. The other 2x bays with yellow drive tray release tabs are outfitted with 2.5-inch NVMe drives that are cabled from the backplane and into the motherboard PCIe bus. SAS drives are enabled by a Broadcom SAS3108 Controller.
Expanding this system is achieved through the PCIe slots found on the back of the system board. There are 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots along with 2x PCIe 3.0 x8 slots, one of which is reserved for the integrated SAS3 3108 controller. Another slot must be used to support one of the low-latency NIC options (described above and included in the specifications section), as this system only comes fully assembled with dual Intel Xeon Scalable Gold 6254 processors installed.
Management software available on this system includes the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0, KVM with dedicated LAN, NMI, SSM, SPM, SUM, SuperDoctor 5, and Watchdog. SuperDoctor5 and Watchdog are Supermicro’s proprietary, integrated management suites. SD5 offers remote and at chassis management of the system through a standard browser interface.
