The 2U Supermicro SuperServer 221P-C9RT is ideal for virtualization, application and data serving, and compute intensive applications. Utilizing dual socket 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor with up to 32 cores and a maximum TDP of up to 300W, it is capable of deploying up to 4TB of ECC Registered RDIMM memory with memory rates up to 5600MT/s. Lining the front of the chassis are 16x hot-swap 2.5" drive bays with 8x SAS drives and 8x SATA drive support, or 8x SATA with 4x SAS and 4x SAS/NVMe drives. Moreover, two optional 2.5-inch SAS/SATA drive bays are located on the back.

There are 2x PCIe 4.0 x2 M.2 slots under the hood that can accommodate 2280 and 22110 form factor cards. Administrators can benefit from 4x PCIe 5.0 x16, 1x PCIe 5.0 x8 low profile slot, and 2x 10GbE LAN ports, plus a dedicated 1GbE BMC LAN port for remote management of the system. There are 4x PCIe 5.0 x16 low profile and 1x PCIe 5.0 x8 low profile slots, plus 4x USB 3.0 ports and 2x SuperDOM ports.
