The Supermicro SuperStorage 6049P-E1CR24L is a dual socket server compatible with 1st or 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 28 cores and a TDP between 70W and 205W. When all 16x DIMM slots are populated, the system supports up to 4TB of DDR4 RDIMMs and LRDIMMs with maximum speeds of up to 2933MHz. In addition to standard memory modules, the system supports Intel Optane DCPMMs. The front panel houses 24x hot-swap 3.5” SAS3/SATA3 drive bays and the rear holds 2x optional 2.5” SATA3 hot-swap drives.

Under the hood, the system supports 2x NVMe M.2 slots. A Broadcom 3008 add-on card controls the SAS drives. The Intel-based Supermicro 6049P-E1CR24L is a 4U system with 3x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and 4x PCIe 3.0 x8 slots. PCIe lots 2 and 3 are occupied by an HD controller in one and JBOD expansion port in the other, repectively. Dual 10GBase-T LAN ports with Intel X722 provide an integrated network connection. The dedicated PHY Intel X557 RJ45 port can be used with management options like IPMI 2.0, Watchdog, and SuperDoctor 5 for at chassis and remote management of the system. This server is powered by 1200W Titanium level redundant power supplies and supports 3x hot-swap 8cm redundant cooling fans plus 2x hot-swap 8cm rear exhaust fans.
