The Supermicro SuperStorage 6049SP-DE2CR90 is a 4U platform with 90x SFF or LFF SAS/SATA top-loading drive bays and a dual Broadcom 3616 storage controller in IT Mode for high-capacity storage. The system supports dual sockets in dual nodes for 1st and 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 28 cores each and a maximum TDP of up to 70W-205W. These CPUs support up to 4TB of RAM when all 16x DIMM slots are filled, plus up to 5TB of memory using Intel Optane DC Persistent memory (DCPMM).
The 90-bay, top-loading Supermicro 6049SP-DE2CR90 system is good for content repositories, healthcare image archives, government data protection, and more. Aside from the drive bays, the system offers other storage options including 2x NVMe M.2 slots for 2280 and 22110 form factor cards and 2x 2.5” internal fixed slim SATA SSDs. The Super X11DSC motherboard, found on each of the two high-availability nodes, supports 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 half-height, half-length slots and 1x PCIe 3.0 x8 half-height, half-length slot.
Software like Intel Node Manager, IPMI 2.0, SuperDoctor5, and Watchdog can be installed to manage the system locally or remotely. The chassis is powered by a 2600W redundant Titanium level (96%) power supply, and it is kept cool by 6x 8cm hot-swappable redundant PWM fans.
