At 4U, IX System’s TrueNAS ES102 Expansion Shelf offers the most storage of any of the expansion shelves at 102 top-loading storage bays. It features dual, redundant, hot-swap SAS3 controllers. Each controller is outfitted with 6x Mini-SAS HD host connections.

Supported drive types included enterprise-grade Nearline SAS3 7200 RPM drives and SAS3 solid-state drives. Self-encrypting drives are also supported. Dual redundant PSUs on the TrueNAS ES102 Expansion Shelf ensure high reliability. The system is compatible with a number of different TrueNAS Series appliances. Depending on the specific TrueNAS Series, 1x to 12x expansion Selves can be attached providing Petabytes of raw storage. With several Expansion Shelves to choose from storage capacity can be expanded on an as-needed basis without disruption or downtime.
An intuitive web-based enclosure management system enables administrators to rapidly manage and distribute storage assets. A full range of storage protocols are supported on the system including Windows, Apple, Unix, and mobile devices.
