The Tyan Thunder HX TS75B7122 B7122T75V8E4HR-2T-N server is a 2U dual-socket server ideal for high-performance computing (HPC). The 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor-based platform features 12x 3.5-inch drive bays on the front panel with support for SATA, SAS, and NVMe, plus M.2 slots.
Optimized for AI and HPC, the Tyan Thunder HX TS75B7122 B7122T75V8E4HR-2T-N server can be used for facial and fingerprint recognition or use in high-performance storage applications. It features 32x DDR4 DIMM slots with up to 8TB of memory and 12x drive bays offering flexible storage configurations depending on your business needs. The server has 5x PCIe 4.0 slots, and is capable of supporting two double-width GPUs.
Other TS75B7122 Chassis ConfigurationsEquipped with two Intel Xeon Scalable processors from the 3rd generation family, the CPU supports up to 64 cores per socket for up to 128 cores with both processors installed. The processors also support PCIe 4.0 for better performance and a thermal design power (TDP) wattage of up to 270W. Powering this next-gen technology, the system uses a dual redundant 2000W 80 Plus Platinum power supply.
The two CPUs each accept 16x DIMMs, each with 8-channels per processor, for a total of up to 32x memory module slots. Each slot supports DDR4 modules with up to 256GB and 3200MHz. A maximum of 256GB per slot for a total of 8TB can be installed when using 3DS registered (RDIMM), 3DS load reduced (LRDIMM) and standard LRDIMMs. Up to 128GB, for a total of up to 4TB, can be accessed with standard RDIMMs.
The 12x tool-less drive bays on the front of the Tyan Thunder HX TS75B7122 are allocated to 3.5” SATA bays with an option to configure 4x of those drives to NVMe. The front HDD backplane supports SAS 12Gb/s, SATA 6Gb/s, and NVMe. SAS drive formats will require a discrete SAS HD RAID controller. Under the hood, the motherboard supports two more NVMe M.2 slots for more storage or to store the operating system. Virtual RAID on CPU is supported with a vROC key installed and provides limited RAID support for NVMe drive formats.
There are three pre-installed Tyan riser cards on the motherboard with support for various PCIe Gen4 slots and link widths. There are a total of 5x PCIE Gen 4 slots including: two half-height, half-length slots which provide a x8 and x16 slot, a single full-height, half-length slot with support for a x16 slot, and two full-height, full-length slots providing a x16 slot. The latter are used for double-width, passive-cooled GPUs. As stated in the section above, the server also features 2x M.2 slots.
On the back of the server beside the dual 10GbE ports is a single 1GbE LAN port for dedicated access to the IPMI on the chassis. The onboard AST2600 is Aspeed’s 7th generation Server Management Processor, which can significantly lower the power consumption of the system without sacrificing performance and security. The baseboard management controller (BMC) is IPMI 2.0 compatible and also provides Redfish support, allowing administrators to access the system locally or remotely.
