With four individual single-socket nodes, the Tyan Transport CX TN73B8037 B8037T73X4-200PE4HR server can support a variety of different workloads in the same chassis, at a reduced cost. The chassis supports the power requirements for the nodes. The nodes are outfitted with a single processor, 8x memory module slots, four 2.5" storage bays, and three fans each plus a management port on the front of the system. Other chassis configurations:
Tyan Transport CX TN73B8037 B8037T73X4-200PV4HR server (SATA III storage)
Each of the four nodes supported on the Tyan TN73B8037 B8037T73X4-200PE4HR server have a single AMD EPYC 7002 series processor supporting a maximum Thermal Design Power (TDP) or 240W. Only DDR4 load reduced (LRDIMM) or registered (RDIMM) memory modules are supported at speeds of up to 3200MHz. Each AMD EPYC 7002 series processor supports 8x memory channels. Powering the system are two 1 + 1 redundant PSUs offering 2000W of power each.
Four 2.5-inch drive bays are found on the front of each of the server nodes for a total of 16x drive bays with all nodes. Drive bays can be outfitted with up to 4x (SATA or NVMe U.2) hot-swap drives operating a 6Gb/s using the integrated SATA controller. Two additional internal NVMe slots in each server sled support a single M.2 drive.
There are 8x memory module slots in each of the four nodes. Using 512GB 3Ds LRDIMMs in each slot will provide up to 4TB. If you plan on using RDIMMS, the system will support a maximum of 2TB using 256GB memory modules in all 8x slots. Memory will run at up to 3200MHz.
Each sled also supports two HH/HL PCIe 4.0 x16 slots for expansion cards. There’s also an open compute project (OCP) 2.0 LAN card under those PCIe risers for adding a super-fast network connection, in each node.
Management of each node is provided right in front offering an onboard Aspeed AST2500 module with standard IPMI 2.0 compliant baseboard management controller.
The Tyan Transport CX TN73B8037 B8037T73X4-200PE4HR server is a very capable platform for use in cloud and data centers offering lower application licensing costs with only a single CPU in each of the compute nodes. A compact 2U form factor, combined with powerful performance from AMD’s EPYC 7002 series processors, also gives this platform the flexibility for use in a number of different applications.
