The Tyan Transport HX FT65T-B8050 B8050F65TV8E2H-2T-N Server Tower houses a single AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor. This system is designed for high-performance computing applications offering support for multiple general-purpose GPUs (GPGPU). As the successor to AMD 3rd Generation series processor, the 4th Generation AMD EPYC processors offer more cores, plus support for faster memory, and PCIe 5.0. The single CPU socket supports 8x DIMM slots with a maximum memory capacity of up to 2TB. On the front of the tower server there are 2x 2.5-inch NVMe drive bays and 8x 3.5-inch SATA drive bays. This system is powered by either a 1200W, 1500W, or 2000W 80 PLUS Gold/Platinum non-redundant power supply.
A single AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor is supported on this server providing a formidable upgrade over the previous 3rd Generation AMD EPYC series processors. This platform can be outfitted with processor choices supporting a Thermal Design Point of 400W, which includes CPUs with up to 96x physical cores and 192x virtual threads. AMD CPUS with a “P” suffix are specifically designed for single socket implementations but other CPUs in the family are supported. AMD EPYC 9004 Series processors provide PCIe Gen5 and 12-memory channel architecture for greater data throughput compared to the previous AMD EPYC generations.
The front of the tower chassis houses 2x 2.5-inch hot-swap NVMe HDD/SSD drive bays and 8x 3.5-inch hot-swap HDD/SSD drive bays. The backplane supports a 6Gb/s SATA interface as well as a 12GB/s SAS interface. There are 2x M.2 drive slots on the system board as well for fast access storage or OS installation. SAS storage implementations will require a discrete SAS storage controller.
Compatible memory modules on the Tyan FT65T-B8050 B8050F65TV8E2H-2T-N Server include Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) and 3DS RDIMMs. The single CPU socket supports 8x DIMM slots and when fully configured provides a maximum memory capacity of up to 2TB. The memory module configuration for the maximum memory capacity is 8x 256GB RDIMMs or 3DS RDIMMs.
System expansion is achieved through 5x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots. Users can install up to 2x double-wide GPUs plus up to 2x single-wide GPU cards. PCIe 5.0 offers twice the data transfer rates compared to PCIe 4.0 capabilities. PCIe 4.0 cards and GPUs are compatible with the PCIe 5.0 interface as it is a direct successor. Dual 10GbE ports and a dual 1GbE ports on the rear of the system provide a built-in option for network communications. There is also a dedicated IPMI port on the back of the system.
Tyan provides many different options for server management. The dedicated RJ-45 management port is Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0 compatible and provides access to the baseboard management controller (BMC). This grants access to remote and at chassis management capabilities through the Aspeed AST2600 chipset.
