Outfitted with up to 4x GPUs, this 4U tower is targeted at graphical tasks and 3D virtualization. A single AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor powers the Tyan Transport HX FT65TB8050 B8050F65TV8E2H-G Server. The tower server delivers up to 2TB of memory across 8x DIMM slots. On the front of the system there are 2x 2.5-inch hot-swappable NVMe U.2 HDD/SSD drive bays and 8x 3.5-inch hot-swappable HDD/SSD SATA drive bays. 5x FH PCIe Gen5 x16 slots accessible from the rear of the system can be outfitted with multiple GPUs. There are a couple of different options for the power supply depending on how the system is configured including a 1200W, 1500W, or 2000W non-redundant PSU.
A single AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor is compatible with this system, and supports a maximum Thermal Design Point of 400W. This includes CPUs with up to 96x physical cores and 192x virtual threads. AMD EPYC 9004 Series processors deliver 128 PCIe Gen5 lanes offering twice the bandwidth compared to PCIe Gen4.
On the front of the tower chassis, there are 2x 2.5-inch hot-swappable U.2 NVMe HDD/SSD drive bays and 8x 3.5-inch hot-swappable SATA HDD/SSD drive bays. If SAS drives are preferred, a discrete SAS controller is required. The system board houses dual M.2 PCIe Gen5 interface drive slots. These slots are ideal for fast access storage or OS installation.
Compatible memory modules on the Tyan B8050F65TV8E2H-G include Registered DIMMs (RDIMM) and 3DS RDIMMs. There are 8x DIMM slots on the system board even though the compatible CPUs support up to 12x memory channels. Fully configured, the maximum memory capacity is 2TB, using 256GB RDIMM DDR5 memory modules in all slots.
System expansion is achieved through 5x PCIe Gen5 expansion slots on the rear of the system. Up to 2x full size GPUs and 2x single-slot GPUs can be installed. The AMD EPYC 9004 Series processors support PCIe Gen 5 slots for twice the data throughput compared to previous generation AMD EPYC CPUs with PCIe Gen4 support. Dual 1GbE Base-T LAN ports can be found on the rear of this server, plus a dedicated GbE management port.
Tyan provides many different options for system management. A dedicated Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) 2.0 1GbE port is built into the system board and grants access to remote and at chassis management capabilities. Using the onboard ASPEED AST2600 baseboard management controller (BMC), Administrators can access the system remotely and at chassis.
Built in a tower server chassis, the Tyan Transport HX FT65TB8050 B8050F65TV8E2H-G Server Tower features a single AMD SP5 socket. The socket is compatible with AMD EPYC 9004 Series processors, those with a “P” suffix are specifically for single processor systems but other AMD processors are supported. A maximum memory capacity of 2TB is available on this system. The front of the system houses 2x 2.5-inch NVMe HDD/SSD drive bays and 8x 3.5-inch HDD/SSD drive bays. 5x PCIe Gen5 expansion slots on the rear of the system support multiple GPUs and can be used to provide faster network interface controllers, a SAS HBA/RAID controller or support other functions.
