Supporting a single AMD EPYC 9004 series processor, the Tyan Transport SX TS70B8056 B8056T70V8E6HR-2T storage server features 24x memory module slots and 12x 3.5” drive bays with SATA or NVMe configurations. The system also supports up to 3TB of DDR5 memory with speeds up to 4800MHz.
The single-socket, 2U Tyan Transport SX TS70B8056 B8056T70V8E6HR-2T storage server accommodates an AMD EPYC processor from the 9004 series, plus up to 14x drive bays, including SATA and NVMe configurations. It can be configured with up to 3,072GB of memory when all 24x memory module slots are populated. This system can be used for high-speed data streaming, enterprise workloads, object storage, virtualization, software defined storage and a number of other applications.
Under the hood, the Transport SX TS70B8056 B8056T70V8E6HR-2T server accommodates a single AMD EPYC processor from the “Zen 4” 9004 series. This CPU features up to 96 cores built on a 5nm process technology and a thermal design power (TDP) of up to 400W. It also supports up to 24x DDR5 memory module slots. On the rear of the chassis, there are 2x PSUs powering the system, either dual 1000W or 1200W PSUs providing 1+1 redundancy and 80 plus platinum efficiency.
The Tyan TS70B8056 B8056T70V8E6HR-2T system can be configured to support registered (RDIMM) or 3DS RDIMM memory modules. The single AMD EPYC CPU supports 12x memory module slots on each side, enabling a total of 24x DDR5 ECC memory module slots for a maximum memory configuration of 3,072GB of RDIMM memory. Memory speeds can range from 4000MHz, 4400MHz, to 4800MHz.
On the front of the Tyan B8056T70V8E6HR-2T storage server are 12x 3.5” SATA drive bays with support for 6Gb/s connectivity. As an option, 4x of the bays can be configured to support NVMe U.2 drive formats. On the rear of the chassis are dual 2.5” NVMe U.2 drive bays that can be used to boot the operating system or to provide more storage. All drives situated on the chassis are hot-swappable and do not require tools to remove.
Two pre-installed Tyan riser cards on the Transport SX B8056T70V8E6HR-2T support PCIe Gen5 expansion cards. One riser supports 2x full-height, half-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and the other supports one full-height, half-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slot. In addition to the PCIe slots, the system also features a PCIe Gen5 x16 OCP 3.0 mezzanine slot offering additional options for network communications.
Administrators can remotely manage the server with a dedicated IPMI 2.0 connector on the back of the chassis. The integrated remote AST2600 iKVM features include USB 2.0 virtual hub, remote platform flash, and support over IP. Redfish API is one of the additional management choices that can boost productivity and add security.
With just a single AMD EPYC 9004 series processor, the Tyan Transport SX TS70B8056 B8056T70V8E6HR-2T storage server can support a total of 24x DIMMs with a maximum memory capacity of up to 3TB. The server supports SATA and NVMe U.2 storage devices, as well as 2x NVMe drive bays on the rear of the chassis.
