The Dell Precision 7820 Workstation Tower can power through complex, demanding applications with either a single or dual socket configuration. Dell's Precision Optimizer comes standard and helps tune your workstation to extract the best performance from a range of single or multi-threaded ISV certified applications. It’s highly adaptable and will grow with your ideas no matter where they take you, thanks to its versatile design and exceptional storage capabilities.
Intel Xeon Scalable processors support up to 28 cores each, for up to 56 cores with two processors. In addition, the multichannel thermal design of the chassis delivers advanced cooling to protect critical internal components and ensure your system runs at peak performance. The 7820 Tower Workstation also supports two next-generation GPUs totaling up to 500W. GPU options include top tier AMD Radeon Pro and NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics options for 3D rendering and other graphics-intensive tasks.
Four front-accessible storage bays are located behind the bezel and support up to four 2.5-inch or four 3.5-inch SAS, SATA or U.2 NVMe drives. A single 5.25-inch media bay can be outfitted with one additional 3.5-inch or two 2.5-inch drives for a maximum of five 3.5-inch drives or six 2.5-inch drives. PCIe M.2 drives are also supported with optional dual and quad PCIe cards. You can also install dual M.2 drives in one of the front drive bays using a hot plug flex tray with a special M.2 drive caddy. With all storage considered, the system supports a maximum of 28TB. Intel CAS-W cache acceleration software for workstations is a great option providing enhanced storage performance for both spinning and solid state drives.
Run your software as fast as possible and get real time results thanks to the workstation’s memory expansion capabilities. Each Intel Xeon Scalable processor has six memory channels and supports six memory module slots. In a two processor configuration, there are 12 memory slots, total, supporting up to 384GB of DDR4 ECC memory operating at up to 2666MHz. ECC memory enables your Workstation to catch any memory errors and remove dead sectors ensuring reliable performance.
The Dell 7820 has two USB 3.1 Type A and two Type C slots in the front along with one universal audio jack. On the back of the system you’ll find six more USB 3.1 Type A slots, one RJ45 network slot, and two PS2 slots.
