At the core of the system, is a single AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processor with up to 96 cores and a maximum TDP of up to 350W. It can provide up to 2TB of memory at full capacity.
The CPU has an 8-channel memory architecture supporting 8x DDR5 memory module slots for up to 2TB of Registered memory with all slots populated with 256GB memory modules. Memory speeds of 4800 MT/s to 5200 MT/s are supported depending on the installed memory modules. The system features several storage options including 2x internal SATA 2.5” or 3.5” hard drives with 2x M.2 PCIe NVMe Gen4 SSDs or 2x external SATA 2.5” or 3.5” storage flex bays with 2x M.2 PCIe NVMe Gen4 storage flex bays. Additional, PCIe-based storage options can push that storage up to 56TB. It also supports an optional slim optical drive, and SD card slot on the front panel. As always, Dell’s Precision workstations support a number of ISV certified applications for trouble-free performance. It is compatible with Windows 10 and 11, plus Ubuntu, Red Hat, and Linux operating systems. A total of 6x PCIe slots are accessible through the back of the chassis. Only 2x of these slots offer PCIe Gen5 throughput with the remaining 4x slots delivering PCIe Gen4 bandwidth. To power the system, users have a choice of a 1350W Platinum or 1000W Platinum internal power supply unit.
