Supporting a single AMD Ryzen 7000 processor, the Gigabyte W332-Z00 tower workstation can deliver up to 16 cores and 32 virtual threads. This is an entry-level workstation designed to support a visual computing and content development plus use in Edge and hybrid/private cloud applications. It offers 2x 3.5-inch storage bays and supports 2x M.2 storage devices.
With a mini-tower form factor, the Gigabyte W332-Z00 workstation can easily be placed under or on top of a desk. The AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPU offers support for up to 128GB of DDR5 memory. The two 3.5-inch storage devices can be RAIDed together using the onboard RAID controller. An optical disk drive is optional equipment. Video is provided by a single display port and one HDMI port, both of which support a maximum resolution of 4096x2160 @60Hz. A discrete GPU from either AMD or Nvidia can also be installed providing enhanced graphic support and processing. The system supports either 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 and comes with a single 500W PSU.
AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series processors provide the compute for this entry-level workstation with up to 16 physical cores and 32 virtual threads. These CPUs feature AMD Zen 4 architecture, support for PCIe 5.0, and have a dual-channel memory architecture. The AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors are suitable for both creation and gaming featuring a boost clock speed of up to 5.7GHz and up to 80MB of cache.
The Gigabyte W332-Z00 workstation has 4x memory module slots on the system board with dual memory channels provided by the CPU. At full capacity, with 2x memory modules in each of the memory channels, this system will support up to 128GB of DDR5 memory. ECC and non-ECC unbuffered memory modules are supported and can operate at up to 3600MT/s with a two DIMMs per channel or up to 2500MT/s with a single DIMM per channel. DIMM capacities are capped at 32GB.
There are two fixed drive bays on the front of the system that support SATAIII drive types. One PCIe Gen5 x4 PCI slot and a Gen4 X4 PCIe slot on the system board can be outfitted with NVMe M.2 drives for additional super-fast storage and to boot the system. An optional optical disk drive can be installed in the media bay at the top, front of the chassis.
Three PCIe slots on the system board offer options for expansion. One is provided through the CPU and features a Gen5 PCIe x16 slot. The other two slots are integrated with the chipset and provide a PCIe Gen4 interface and x4 and x1 PCIe lanes respectively. In addition to the two M.2 storage slots as mentioned above, there is also an M.2 slot for WiFi that supports a 2230 card. The PCIe 5.0 x16 slot will also accept several different double-wide GPUs from AMD, Nvidia or Gigabyte for gaming or computational acceleration that do not exceed the 500W PSU requirement.
A dedicated Realtek GbE DASH LAN port on the back of the system allows this tower workstation to be managed from anywhere, assuming there is a network connection. Remote management is provided via a Realtek network Interface Controller (NIC) that enables DASH (Desktop and mobile Architecture for System Hardware), which is a client management standard for remote systems. It enables the system to use the Realtek Remote Management Console to manage and monitor the system. The system can be accessed whether powered on or off.
For an entry level platform, the Gigabyte W332-Z00 tower workstation provides excellent performance thanks to the AMD Ryzen 7000 processor. It offers up to 128GB of DDR5 memory plus PCIe Gen5 bandwidth for improved I/O bandwidth. With a small footprint it can easily fit in your workspace providing a suitable platform for both work and play.
