Built around the Intel W790 chipset and LGA 4677 socket, the workstation supports processors with TDP ratings of up to 385W. It features 8x DIMM slots for DDR5 RDIMM memory running at speeds of up to 4800 MT/s. Note that systems equipped with W-2500 or W-2400 processors are limited to 4x DIMM slots and a reduced memory channel configuration.
For graphics acceleration, the W773-W80 offers excellent expandability with 5x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots and 2x PCIe Gen4 x16 slots. Up to 4x dual-slot Gen5 GPUs can be installed. When using W-2500 or W-2400 series processors, slots 4, 5, and 6 are unavailable. Supported GPU configurations include:

Storage options include up to 8x 3.5-inch SATA bays. That includes 4x front hot-swap bays with the option to add 4x more bays. For OS support, the system also features 2x internal M.2 slots supporting PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe drives. RAID levels 0, 1, 10, and 5 are available through the integrated Intel SATA controller. Networking includes two 10 Gb/s LAN ports via the Intel X710-AT2 controller and a dedicated 10/100/1000 Mb/s management port. Remote system management is handled by the ASPEED AST2600 BMC with the intuitive Gigabyte Management Console for web-based monitoring and control. Power is supplied by a single 2000W 80 PLUS Gold ATX power supply. For optimal performance a 220-240 V AC input is recommended.
