Powered by a single 12th, 13th or 14th generation Intel Core X CPU, the HP Z2 G9 Workstation is a mid to entry-level system that offers Enterprise-grade components. The system can be outfitted with up to 128GB of ECC or non-ECC memory and 48TB of storage, including SAS, SATA and NVMe storage devices. A maximum of 2x high-performance GPUs from NVIDIA or AMD can be installed.

Applications supported are dependent on the installed CPUs, GPUs and memory count. With 2x DisplayPort 1.4 ports on the back of the HP Z2 G9 Workstation can be configured to support general word processing, database and web-based research without the need for a discrete GPU. Using just the integrated UHD graphics 770 or 730 module incorporated in Intel’s Core X processors with an “F” suffix can pose up to 2x 2K monitors or a single 4K monitor. For dramatically increased performance, a full range of GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD are supported, including the NVIDIA RTX 5000 Ada generation and AMD’s Radeon Pro 7900 GPUs. With a discrete GPU installed, the system can be used for multi-threaded applications in rendering, simulation and real-time ray-tracing. ISV certification, ensures the system is compatible with a number of complex applications including, Adobe After Effects, Premier, DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer to name a few.
It can also be outfitted with up to 5x M.2 NVMe drives for super-fast storage, plus more storage supported with 2x internal 3.5-inch SAS/SATA bays. Up to 2x M.2 drives can be installed in the 5.25-inch media bay using the CRU QX328 SSD module with a lockable cage to protect your data. Alternatively, a DX75 drive cage can be installed to support a single 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drive and also features a lock. There are several USB ports both front and back with options for 10Gb/s and 20Gb/s, plus optional Thunderbolt 4 offering an incredible 40Gb/s data transfer rate. A Flex I/O module provides options for a number of additional components including another display port or thunderbolt port.
The HP Z2 G9 Workstation is compatible with Windows 11 and Linux Ubuntu operating systems. HP Anywhere is pre-installed and allows the system to be accessed from anywhere with an Internet connection, which is a definite benefit for those on the go or for administrative purposes.
