Additional Information
To make data transfers and connecting additional components, the Lenovo ThinkStation P5 Gen2 Workstation offers several ports upfront. 2x USB-A connectors and 2x USB-C connectors offering 10Gb/s data transfer speeds with one always on for charging. A Flex Bay on the front of the system offers additional options for more storage, an optical device, or 15-in-1 card reader.
The back of the platform provides more ports including, audio line-in and audio line-out, optional serial connector, 2x USB-A connectors and a 2.5Gb/s Ethernet connector beside that. Then another cluster of USB-A connectors offering 10Gb/s plus 2x USB-C connectors with one providing 10Gb/s data transfer speeds and the other 20Gb/s. There are 2x options for power; either a 750W or 1000W power supply unit (PSU). Options for Ethernet connections include single and quad gigabit plus a quad-port 10G Ethernet network adapter.
Storage options include 8 drives consisting of 4x 3.5-inch internal drive bays plus up to 4x M.2 drives. Another configuration includes 11x drives with a mix of 8x M.2 drives and 3x 3.5-inch drives. Depending on your storage configuration, there is also a Dual Drive internal Enclosure that straddles the PCIe slots and houses 2x 3.5-inch SATA drives.

This platform includes 2x PCIe Gen5 x16 slots, 3x PCIe Gen4 x4 slots, and a single PCIe Gen5 x8 slot for 6x PCIe slots total. Those 2x Gen5 x16 PCIe slots are used for the GPUs, for additional storage or NICs. perhaps a Thunderbolt or USB4 card for super-fast data transfers of up to 40Gb/s, and or a Baseboard Management Controller, BMC, card for remote management.
