The Supermicro SuperWorkstation 5039A-iL features a small footprint and is designed for CAD/CAM/CAE, digital imaging, medical applications, oil & gas, simulation & automation. It has a single processor will power up to 64GB of memory and up to eight internal drives using the optional 2.5-inch drive cage.
This system supports a single 6th or 7th generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processor, a single Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 or v6 or a Pentium or Celeron processor up to 95W. With a single processor, this system fits into Supermicro’s entry-level workstation category but still offers some great performance with DDR4 memory modules, plus up to four 3.5-inch drive bays.
Four memory module slots adjacent to the CPU socket support only DDR4 UDIMM ECC and non-ECC memory modules offering a top speed of 2400MT/s.
There are four 3.5-inch drive bays in the primary drive cage of the Supermicro 5039A-iL. Just below, you can install four more 2.5-inch drives using an optional drive cage. All drive cages can be rotated 90 degrees if the system is rack mounted. There is one M.2 slot on the system board to hos your OS or for super-fast storage up to 1TB.
Three standard-sized PCIe expansion cards are supported on this system using one of the PCIe 3.0 slots. Two more 32-bit PCI slots can be used to support old-school cards.
With a single processor, the Supermicro SuperWorkstation 5039A-iL delivers some impressive performance for CAD, CAM and light 3D modeling. Using an optional rail kit, the system can be mounted in a standard enclosure with 4U of space available.
