Designed for high-performance computing, AI and AI training and inference, the Gigabyte G292-Z45 GPU server offers a 2U chassis with dual AMD EPYC 7002/7003 series processors. This chassis also supports up to 8x double-slot GPU accelerators, 8x hot-swap storage bays, and up to 4TB of memory.
With dual AMD EPYC processors installed, the Gigabyte G292-Z45 GPU Server features 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes for all expansion sockets and dedicated slots. Augmented computation is provided by up to 8x full-height, full-width GPU accelerators stacked in two GPU risers placed on each side of the motherboard each supporting 2x GPUs. With EPYC processors faster memory of up to 3200MHz is supported. This system is powered by 2x 2200W 80 PLUS Platinum PSUs in a 2+0 configuration.

This system can be populated with one or two AMD EPYC 7002 or 7003 series CPUs. However, if only one CPU is installed some PCIe and memory slots will not be active. CPUs are limited to 240W, but will still enable up to 64 physical cores each for up to 128 cores and 256 threads with two processors installed. Each processor supports 8x memory channels for enhanced memory throughput.
Each of the processors supports 8x memory module sockets for 16x active memory module slots with both processors installed. Memory speeds of up to 3200MHz are supported with both registered (RDIMM) and load reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules, which will support up to 2TB of memory at capacity. 3DS RDIMM and LRDIMM memory modules will also support 3200MHz modules, but will provide double the memory compliment at up to 4TB using 256GB memory modules in all 16 slots.
This system is only compatible with hot-swap SAS or SATA HDDs or SSDs in the 8x up front storage bays. For implementation of SAS storage devices, a discrete SAS HD/RAID controller is required. SATA drives are supported directly from the motherboard with limited RAID function. For more RAID options, a dedicated controller is recommended.
Expansion slots for both the supported GPU accelerators and the low-profile slots at the back of the server are all PCIe 4.0 offering twice the bandwidth compared to PCIe 3.0. Up to 8x GPU accelerator cards from AMD, Nvidia Xilinx or Qualcomm can be installed on this system, but all GPUs must be the same. The other two low-profile slots at the back of the chassis are for enhanced I/O cards or to support a dedicated SAS HD/RAID controller. All GPU slots have a x16 electrical lane.
Gigabyte offers their proprietary Gigabyte Server Manager (GSM) free of charge, saving licensing fees and other associated costs, and promoting a quicker ROI. The GSM provides multiple server management compatible with integrated platform management interface 2.0 (IPMI) and Redfish. The Gigabyte Management Console (GMC) is for single server management and features an easy-to-use browser-based interface that integrates well with 3rd party applications
