Designed for cost-effective high-performance computing applications, the Tyan Transport HX FT65TB8030 B8030F65TV8E2H-2T-N pedestal server tower can be used as a deskside server. It features a single AMD EPYC 7003/7002 series processor and up to 2TB of memory. It offers ample storage up front with room for up to 10x drives supporting SAS, SATA and NVMe drive types.
This is a flexible platform designed for offices without room for dedicated server. Although, as your business grows, this system can also be mounted in a standard 42U server enclosure. The Tyan Transport HX FT65TB8030 B8030F65TV8E2H-2T-N Server Tower features a single AMD EPYC processor delivering up to 64 physical cores, and support for up to 2TB of memory at maximum capacity. With 6x PCIe 4.0 slots, this platform can be configured to support a number of mission critical business applications, plus design and analysis. There is also room for up to 4x double-wide GPU cards, including Nvidia Quadro, Tesla, and GeForce GPUs. A single non-hot-swappable PSU connects to a C19 power cable. The PSU puts out up to 1500W when connected to 115-200V input or only 1200W when connected to a 100-115V input or only 1200W when connected to a 100-115V input range. Providing cooling for those GPUs and associated hardware are three large 120mm fans just behind the HD backplane. Two more fans on the back of the system pull the air out of the chassis.
Other FT65TB8030 Chassis ConfigurationsAMD’s EPYC 7003 (Milan) or 7002 (Rome) series processors can deliver from 8 to 64 physical cores and 128 virtual threads. 7003 series processors deliver performance improvements over the 7002-series processors but both will still support PCIe 4.0 for up to 128 PCIe lanes and superior throughput for I/O, NVMe storage, and GPUs. The configurable thermal design point (cTDP) of the processor is limited to 280W, and has an active cooler with a fan. At 280W cTDP, this system can use the whole catalog of EPYC 7003/7002 series processors. A large cache of 256MB helps provide low latency access to data.
With 8x memory channels provided by the AMD processor, and 8x memory module slots, each memory module occupies its own memory channel for unbridled throughput. DDR4-3200 memory speeds are supported across the entire portfolio of EPYC 7003/7002 series processors providing low-latency for data processing. Fully outfitted, the system will support up to 2TB of memory.
Storage on the front panel includes 8x 3.5-inch drive bays on the lower chassis that can support either SATA at 6Gb/s or SAS at 12Gb/s using a discrete SAS RAID controller. While the HDD backplane will support both SAS and SATA, SAS implementations will require a discrete SAS HBA/RAID adapter in one of the PCIe slots. The 2x 2.5-inch drive bays just above the lower 3.5-inch drive bays support NVMe or SATA drives natively. 2x PCIE 4.0 x4 slots on the system board squeezed between the main PCIe slots at the bottom of the chassis support M.2 drives that can be used to mount the operating system or for additional superfast storage.
5x PCIe 4.0 x16 slots on the system board can be used to support up to 4x double-width GPUs from either the Quadro, Tesla or GeForce product ranges. This system will also support Nvidia’s Ampere based A100 GPU. However, with some of these GPU configurations it is essential the fans are running at top speed. Also supported is a pre-installed Tyan riser card supporting a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot with a x8 lane. Two more x4 PCIe 3.0 slots on the system board are dedicated for support of 2x NVMe M.2 drives.
On the back of the server is a dedicated management port to access the Aspeed AST2500 baseboard management controller (BMC). The web-based management interface uses the MegaRAC SP-X solution for compatibility with other third-party manufacturers. It has a simple an intuitive HTML 5.0 based user interface and iKVM features for at chassis management and Redfish support. There are also two 1GbE ports, plus two Intel 10Gbase-T ports. At the top of the Tyan Transport HX FT65TB8030 B8030F65TV8E2H-2T-N pedestal server tower there’s a control panel with dual USB ports, power on/off and tell-tale lights for server health status.
