With the Tyan Transport HX TN76AB8242 B8242T76AV2E24HR-2V server, you can install up to 24x switchless NVMe U.2 drives plus two SATA drives, supported by dual AMD EPYC 7001/7002 series processors. Two integrated 25GB LAN ports and an optional OCP mezzanine card slot provide fast network connection speeds without using your other PCIe expansion slots.

This system supports either two first- or second-generation AMD EPYC series processors, but only up to 200W. Second generation AMD EPYC 7002 series processors will deliver the most cores. Both generations offer 8 memory channels, and in this case, each processor supports 16x DIMM slots for 32x memory module slots in a two-processor configuration.
With both processors installed, this system is capable of supporting up to 4TB of either registered (RDIMM) or load reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules. However, LRDIMMs are not supported when AMD EPYC series 7002 are deployed in all other configurations. Depending on your choice of first- or second-generation processors, memory will run at a maximum speed of 2400MHz to 2666MHz, respectively.
There are a total of 26x 2.5-inch drive bays on the front of the chassis, with 24x specifically for NVMe U.2 drives. Two hot swap SATA bays on the far left of the chassis are indicated by the dark blue drive release levers. All the NVMe compatible drive bays are light blue in color. 3x pre-installed riser cards support 12x NVMe ports, plus an additional riser card with OCulink connectors for 6x NVMe ports. The rest plug into the mini-SAS connectors on the motherboard.
Many of the expansion ports are taken up by riser cards with OCulink connections to support the NVMe drives up front. However, you do get a single x4 connection that you can use for additional I/O plus a dedicated slot for an OCP mezzanine card. There are also 2x integrated 25GB SFP LAN ports for network communications.
The Tyan B8242T76AV2E24HR-2V server is compatible with other third-party platforms utilizing integrated platform management interface, IPMI 2.0 through the ASP2500 module. It’s also Redfish API compatible for chassis and system level intuitive web-based user interface. As a result, it integrates well with third-party hardware improving reliability and scalability.
