With up to 14 storage devices, including SATA and NVMe drives, offers flexibility to support a number of applications in high-performance computing. Performance

This chassis is outfitted with dual AMD EPYC 7002 (Rome) or 7003-series (Milan) processors. To limit potential heat buildup within the chassis, CPUs are limited to 240W. Each CPU supports 8x memory channels, plus PCIe 4.0 for twice the bandwidth compared to PCIe Gen 3.0.

Storage

Twelve 3.5-inch storage bays line the front of the Tyan TS65B8253 B8253T65V10E4HR-2T server, plus an additional 2x 2.5-inch hot plug storage bays in back for a total of 14 drives supported. Infront, 4x of the drive bays are dedicated for NVMe drives that plug directly into the motherboard and do not require PCIe bridge cards. The other 8x bays support SATA drives natively or SAS with a discrete controller.

Memory

Each processor supports 8x memory module sockets, which means each memory module operates in a dedicated memory channel for optimal performance. Both 3DS registered (RDIMM) and load-reduced (LRDIMM) memory modules are supported in varying quantities. Using RDIMM memory modules the system will support up to 1TB, while using LRDIMM memory modules in all 16 slots will support up to 4TB of memory. Depending on CPU and memory module speeds, memory can run at up to 3200MHz but will default to the slowest performer of the two.

Expansion

7x PCIe 4.0 slots offer more options for faster network controllers and support of SAS drives. The system comes standard with dual 10GbE ports plus 2x 1GbE ports and a dedicated management port.

Management

For management of the Tyan Transport TS65B8253 B8253T65V10E4HR-2T, there is an integrated RJ45 port offing 1Gb access to the integrated platform management interface or IPMI. The Aspeed AST2500 onboard chipset provides both remote and local management of the system and is compatible with Redfish API. Additional management applications monitor temperature and voltage of the system.
