The HPE Alletra Storage Server 4120 is a hybrid-NVMe data storage solution designed for high-performance and flexible data-centric workloads. The system accommodates either a single or dual 4th or 5th generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 48 cores. At capacity it can support up to 4TB DDR5 memory running at speeds of up to 5600MT/s. It is equipped to handle GPUs and FPGAs such as the NVIDIA A2 16GB PCIe non-CEC accelerator or the NVIDIA L4 24GB PCIe accelerator. This 2U server is ideal for demanding storage applications with end-to-end security and an intuitive cloud experience.
The HPE Alletra 4120 provides various storage configurations, supporting a combination of HDDs and NVMe SSDs to balance capacity and performance needs. The front panel can be equipped with up to 24x 3.5” or 48x 2.5” drive bays, while the rear offers additional options with up to 12x EDSFF (Enterprise and Data Center SSD Form Factor) NVMe drives, 6x 2.5” drives, or 4x 3.5” drives. For high-speed data access, the server features optional hardware such as dual M.2 NVMe SSDs, either internal or directly attached.
The Alletra 4120 server supports 12x RDIMMs per processor, with 8x channels per processor, for a total of 24x DDR5 memory slots offering up to 4TB. It includes 2x OCP 3.0 slots and 8x FHHL PCIe Gen5 x16 expansion slots on the rear. It also features flexible power options with 2x HPE Flexible Slot (Flex Slot) power supplies, each capable of delivering up to 2200W. Additionally, the server offers the option to integrate with the HPE GreenLake as-a-service edge-to-cloud platform, enabling a transition from traditional server ownership to a more streamlined, usage-based model.
