Coming in at 3.9 liters, the Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Ultra Workstation is the successor to the Lenovo ThinkStation P360 Ultra and is considered a mini-tower. It supports the 13th and 14th generation Intel Core i5, i7, or i9 processors with up to 24 cores and up to 6GHz. At full capacity, it can offer up to 128GB of memory DDR5 ECC or non-ECC memory. There are three internal storage bays, plus support for an optional discrete graphics card.
The Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Ultra Workstation can also support up to 4x monitors with CPUs offering integrated graphics or up to 8x with a discrete GPU. All of the supported CPUs offer integrated graphics, either Intel UHD Graphics 770 or 730. Storage on this system includes slots for 2x NVMe M.2 drives and an optional 2.5-inch SSD drive. Ports on the front of the system include 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports offering 40Gb/s throughput, a USB-A port with a 10Gb/s data transfer rate and combo headphone microphone jack. On the rear of the system a 4x more USB-A ports, 3x DisplayPort 1.2 and GbE RJ45 port. Optionally the system can be outfitted with 1x or 2x USB-C ports offering 20Gb/s or 10Gb/s, respectively. Additional RJ45 ports can be installed via the PCIe slots.
Two PCIe slots are included on the Lenovo P3 Ultra system board with one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot and one PCIe 3.0 x8 slot. The x16 slot can be used to support a discrete GPU and features a 75W of power. The other x8 slot delivers 25W of power. Optional Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth are available for wireless network connectivity. There is a single speaker with high-definition audio provided by Realtek. Supported operating systems include Windows 11 Pro and home versions plus Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu Linux. Powering the system is either a 300W, 230W, or 170W external power brick boasting a 90% efficiency.
