Designed for applications in architecture, engineering, finance, geoscience, and entertainment media, the Tyan Thunder HX FT48TB7105 B7105F48TV8HR-2T-G Workstation Tower features a dual-socket motherboard to support Intel’s Xeon Scalable processors. Up to five high-performance GPUs can be installed on the system with support from up to 1.5TB of memory. Two other chassis configurations provide alternate storage and GPU options.

Top of the line intel Xeon Scalable processors up to 205W are supported on the system. Each processor supports six memory channels and six memory slots so each memory module has it’s very own memory channel for increased performance. Redundant 80 Plus Platinum 1000W PSUs for standard voltage systems or dual 2000W PSUs for 220-240V/10A systems provide power to the system. Fully outfitted with five GPUs will require the 2000W PSU option.
With eight internal storage drives, the Tyan FT48TB7105 B7105F48TV8HR-2T-G Workstation supports the most storage out of the three chassis configurations. You can install up to eight 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA or SAS, HDD or SSD storage devices using the front mounted storage bays. SATA is supported natively using Rapid Storage Technology Enterprise (RSTe). Two NVMe M.2 storage devices are supported directly on the motherboard. Additional PCIe cards supporting one or two M.2 sticks can be installed using specific Tyan PCIe cards. SAS is supported by a discrete Broadcom MegaRAID controller offering transfer speed of up to 12Gb/s.
Registered (RDIMM), load-reduced (LRDIMM) and 3DS RDIMM and 3DS LRDIMM memory modules are supported in varying quantities. The 3DS RDIMM or LRDIMM memory modules will provide the highest capacity at up to 1.5TB using 128GB memory modules in all 12 memory module slots.
The motherboard has six PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and five PCIe 3.0 x8 slots. Five of those x16 slots can be used to support up to five high-performance double-wide GPUs. The other x16 slots supports only a single-wide card but can be used to support additional storage from M.2 or for faster network access with speeds ranging from 1GbE to 25GbE. Optional Storage controllers and WiFi are also supported using discrete PCIe cards.
A control panel behind the front bezel at the top of the chassis features the on/off button plus two USB ports, and several LEDs that monitor the power, LAN connections, and hard drives. The Onboard Aspeed AST2500 provides access to the baseboard management controller (BMC) to support local and remote access of the system.
